The exhibition features the winning projects of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) sustainability award ‘umsicht – regards – sguardi’ 2011. agps received the award for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Gland. The building reflects the basic goals of the institution that it houses. The proposed architecture points to an understanding of what sustainable construction can accomplish in terms of energy and material use. Some of the ecological components include photovoltaic, geothermal heating and cooling, controlled ventilation, night cooling, and storm water management, as well as the use of CO2-reduced concrete, recycled products, local materials, and certified suppliers.
